About this kata

Pinan Godan (平安五段, "Peaceful Mind – Fifth Level") is the last and most advanced of Itosu's five Pinan kata, introducing a jump, more complex turning and a wider range of hand techniques. Together the five Pinan form the foundation of the coloured-belt syllabus. Known in Shotokan as Heian Godan.
