Pinan Nidan平安二段

Pinan Nidan (平安二段, "Peaceful Mind – Second Level") is the second of Itosu's five Pinan kata. It is generally the simpler of the first two forms, which is why many systems teach it early.

Note on naming: This kata corresponds to Shotokan's Heian Shodan — Funakoshi swapped the numbering of the first two Pinan when adapting them for Shotokan. Several Okinawan and Japanese schools teach this form first of the five because of its relative simplicity; check which order your Jindokai syllabus follows.
